Transportation and Getting Around

Getting to and from the Walt Disney World® Resort

When flying into and out of the Orlando International Airport, your best option is to use Disney's Magical Express Service a private towncar, or car rental*.

With Disney's Magical Express Service, your vacation starts the moment you land at the Orlando International Airport. This service is complimentary with every Walt Disney World® package. Enjoy these great benefits:Disney's Magical Express

  • Don't bother picking up your luggage when you arrive; Disney takes you from the airport to check-in, while your bags go straight to your room.
  • Save on transportation costs, tolls, parking, and more.
  • Enjoy comfortable transportation to and from the airport in deluxe air-conditioned motor coaches.
  • When your vacation's over, you and your bags are whisked back from your Disney Resort to the airport.

Disney's Magical Express Service is easy to use! Just follow these easy steps:

  • A couple of weeks prior to your departure, you will receive a Disney's Magical Express booklet along with the rest of your documents that will contain your yellow lugguage tags and vouchers.Disney's Magical Express Booklet
  • Place the yellow luggage tags on any item that you are checking with the Disney's Magical Express Luggage Tagairline. (One tag per piece of luggage.) Be sure to keep your baggage claim tickets with you and let the Cast Members at Disney's Magical Express check-in desk know how many bags you checked.
  • Be sure to keep any medication and other essential items that you could possibly need during the first few hours of your stay. Your luggage will arrive separately from you and may take up to three hours to arrive in your room after you check-in at your resort.
  • Please be sure to keep your Disney's Magical Express booklet with you as you will need it to check-in. Your booklet has a map of the airport, your travel vouchers, and other helpful information to make your experience as smooth as possible.
  • Upon your arrival at the airport, collect your gate checked items (strollers, etc.). Take the trams to head to Level 1, on the B side of the main terminal of the airport. Head towards the end of the concourse to the Disney Welcome Center. Present your booklet and baggage claim tickets. The Cast Member will confirm the number of items
    Neverland Tip
If your flight arrives late at night or you would prefer to get your bags at the airport, don't put the yellow tags on your bags. Collect your bags at baggage claim and take them with you to the Welcome Center.
checked with you as well as your return flight information.
  • If you will need a motorcoach with a wheelchair lift, please let your travel consultant know when you are making the reservation for Disney's Magical Express Service. They will note it on the reservation for you. When you check in, make sure the Cast Member knows that you will need the lift. Your party will be escorted to a seperate waiting area and someone will let you know when it is your time to board.
  • After checking in, head to the line for your resort and a Cast Member will let you know when it is time to board your Disney's Magical Express motorcoach. The motorcoach may take up to three stops before arriving at your resort. Once at your resort, collect any items and luggage you have with you on the motorcoach, and head to the resort lobby to check-in!

Returning Home on Disney's Magical Express Service

When it is time to return home, you will receive a letter in your hotel room one day prior to your departure. This letter will let you know what time the motorcoach will be at your resort to pick you up. Disney's Magical Express Bus

It is recommended that you be at the bus stop no later than twenty minutes prior to your departure time. Disney's Magical Express bus stops are located in front of the resort and are marked by a sign with the Disney's Magical Express logo. You will receive a phone number to call with your letter if your flight has changed and you need to be picked up at another time.

Head to the bus stop with your luggage unless you opted to check-in for your flight at your resort and have already checked your bags. Keep the letter you received in your hotel room as it is your voucher for your entire party.

*Disney's Magical Express is available to all Guests staying at Disney Resorts with the exception of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel and the Downtown Disney® Resort Area Hotels.

If you opt to rent a car or to hire a private towncar, your travel consultant can provide you with various options.

Getting Around the Walt Disney World® Resort

There are several modes of transportation within the Walt Disney World® Resort, including Bus, Boat and Monorail. The transportation is complimentary to all Walt Disney World® Resort on-site guests. All transportation is handicap Monorail Line at Disney's Polynesian Resortaccessible. (Some of the smaller resort water launches to the Magic Kingdom® Park may be difficult for guests using motorized wheelchairs and ECV's but other accessible options are always available.)

Disney's monorail runs between the Magic Kingdom® Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Centre (adjacent to the Magic Kingdom® parking lot). A connecting monorail takes Guests from the Transportation and Ticket Centre to Epcot®.

Most areas of the Walt Disney World® Resort are accessible by bus from other areas within the Resort, including Theme Parks, Water Parks, the Disney Resorts and the Downtown Disney® area. Buses travel on routes throughout the Resort and do not provide direct service between all destinations. Generally, buses run every 20 minutes to each destination.
